2005 plans
For 2003 we went back to the GP250 class with a 2000 model Honda RS250. The bike was pretty competitive, but I struggled to come to terms with the extra power and the slick tyres again.
In 2004 we did the second round of the MRO at Croft in the north east at the beginning of April. First races on the Saturday were Bemsee club ones and in damp/wet conditions. I finished third and second in them and was very pleased. MRO qualifying was done on a damp but drying track and I was in 5th position for most of the session. Unfortunately I got baulked on my last two laps and slipped down to 11th but was reasonably happy with that. Got the worst start I have had for a long time in the race and slipped right back. Ended up in 15th at the end of the race so a bit disappointed but a lot better than last year.
We went to Oulton again for the MRO qualified 11th and that was where I finished the race, quite happy considering my limited track time this year. The only other outing was the Pembrey round of the MRO with club racing on the Saturday. Had a seventh and a fifth in the club stuff then qualified 8th for the MRO. Unfortuanately I did not do well in the race and ended up down in 15th.
For 2005 I am just looking at racing to have a bit of fun but if a good sponsor comes along then I will consider doing the full MRO championship. If not we will just race at the tracks that I enjoy and do some of the MRO rounds.
